Rafael Camargo: A Journey of Connection with Nature and Spirituality

Born and raised on the outskirts of the Atlantic Forest in São Paulo, Brazil, Rafael Camargo has always had a deep connection with nature. In 2003 at the age of 25, he decided to move to Australia and travel the world.

Rafael has lived in India to learn Ashtanga Yoga and has more than 10 years of experience as an Ashtanga Yoga teacher and is a passionate cook.

Rafa is a father of two beautiful girls, Sita and Jaya. In 2008, Rafael had a transformative experience participating in a Santo Daime spiritual work in New Zealand. This introduction to the Doctrine marked the beginning of a profound spiritual journey, which deepened in 2015 when he committed to following the Doctrine's teachings.

In 2018, he embarked on a transformative journey, traveling to the Amazon in Acre, Brazil, to study and learn from Huni Kui spiritual leaders. During his time in Acre, Rafael visited various indigenous communities, including Shawãdawa, Puyanawa and Waninawa, deepening his knowledge of medicinal plants and ancestral sacred chants.

Rafael has always had a profound connection with nature. As a professional photographer since 2019, he uses his art to support indigenous rights and nature preservation. His journey has taken him to explore tropical forests worldwide, recording inspiring stories that raise awareness about the importance of preserving nature and indigenous rights.

After years away, Rafael returned to his hometown in 2021, ready for a new chapter in his life. In 2022, he founded the Aldeia Montanha Sagrada Institute (A.M.S.), a refuge located in Paraibuna, São Paulo, surrounded by the region's lush Mata Atlantica forest..

Rafael is the visionary founder of HAUXFILM Production, a platform created to capture the essence of the Amazon through images and stories. His mission is to preserve the region's cultural and environmental richness, sharing the ancestral knowledge of indigenous peoples with the world and inspiring a new era of respect and conservation.
